KAMBO NATURISTA TRAINING AND INTRODUCTION INTO SHAMANIC AND HOLISTIC MEDICINE IN PERU
The 16-Day 1:1 KN Training is a well-balanced combination of modern and traditional knowledge and practices, specifically designed for those who wish to become comprehensive Kambo practitioners in an intimate, personalized setting.
This training covers all the same comprehensive content as our 21-Day KN Elite group program but is condensed into 16 days. The key difference is that it is fully personalized: there are no additional Kambo sessions involving other participants. Instead, students practice directly on real clients rather than applying treatments to each other. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for extensive group interactions, allowing for focused and efficient learning in less time.
The training is held exclusively at our center in the Peruvian jungle, where the Kambo frogs live in their natural habitat. You will have the opportunity to meet members of the Matsés tribe and learn about their traditional work with Kambo, including how to locate the frogs and ethically extract their medicine. The course also includes an introduction to shamanic and holistic medicine, giving you the chance to connect deeply with the frog spirit through the Amazonian shamanic practice known as dieta.
You will receive complete theoretical and practical training on the safe and responsible use of Kambo, along with related topics. The program is structured as a clear, step-by-step journey to help you become a skillful and confident Kambo facilitator.
The teachings are aligned with modern safety standards, so once the training is complete, you will be able to apply your skills anywhere in the world. This 1:1 format can be booked for an individual, a couple, or a maximum of two people, making it ideal for highly personalized instruction. It is available for most of the year, offering flexibility for those with specific scheduling needs. Due to the exclusive nature of the program and the absence of group participants to share costs, the price is slightly higher than that of the 21-day group training.
Upon successfully completing this training, you will be listed on our website as a qualified KN practitioner. You will also gain access to our private Facebook group, where you can connect with us and other KN practitioners to discuss Kambo-related topics. After a year of practice, you may also apply to assist in one of our Kambo retreats. This hands-on learning experience is available for only one or, at most, two people at a time. Any KN practitioner interested in this assistance program can get in touch with us for more details.
PLACE
Iquitos,Peru
It is recommended that you arrive well-rested for the training. If you are traveling from far away, it may be helpful to allow some time to rest after your journey and overcome any jet lag before the program begins. Transportation from Iquitos airport or the city will be arranged for you.
If you need assistance organizing your trip or finding accommodation in Lima or Iquitos prior to the training, please let us know. It is also possible to arrive at the center a day early to rest before we start the program.
COSTS
ONE PARTICIPANT: 3300 €
TWO PARTICIPANTS: 3000 € each
Includes transport from Iquitos to the retreat center and back, full Kambo training, 1 personal Kambo stick, 6–9 Kambo sessions, food and accommodation during the retreat.
You will stay in a private, mosquito-proof hut with clean filtered drinking water and delicious vegan meals (or dieta-friendly food) throughout your stay.
We also offer the option to purchase additional high-quality, fairly priced Kambo sticks, Sananga, and Rapé. All Kambo medicine is harvested by the Matsés tribe, with a portion of the proceeds supporting social projects that help protect the frogs and their environment. The Sananga (Beshute) is prepared by the Matsés tribe, while the Rapé comes from various indigenous tribes in Brazil.
Training Schedule
You are expected to arrive at our center before midday. The center is located approximately 44 km from Iquitos, about a 1.5-hour drive along the main road to Nauta. The final kilometer (from the main road to the center) is accessible by vehicle only during favorable weather conditions. If conditions do not permit vehicle access, a short 1 km walk may be required, during which our staff will assist with luggage. Upon arrival, we will arrange your accommodation, followed by lunch, an introduction to the training, and initial theory covering the safe use of Kambo, application techniques, how to support participants during the process, and a Q&A session.
We will begin with the first Kambo ceremony, guided by Deyan. After the session, there will be time for rest, followed by additional theory on Kambo fundamentals and application techniques. We will also cover how to work with Kambo on a holistic level, as well as the shamanic approach.
Introduction to complementary medicines and instruments used alongside Kambo ceremonies (Rapé, Nu-Nu, Tobacco, Sananga, Agua Florida, etc.). We will explore further Kambo theory and science, including peptides, human physiology, the physical absorption of Kambo, its effects, and contraindications, followed by practical and technical exercises. After dinner, we will accompany the Matsés men on a frog-hunting expedition.
The morning will be dedicated to milking the frogs and extracting their precious medicine. Following this, the second Kambo application will be performed by the Matsés elder. You will directly experience the power of fresh medicine and a traditional Matsés treatment. In the afternoon, the Matsés will share their stories and answer your questions about their tribe and their traditional use of Kambo. We will also cover preparation for self-application and the upcoming dieta.
Throughout the dieta, you will participate in 4 obligatory Kambo ceremonies, with the possibility of up to 3 additional sessions if desired. The obligatory ceremonies take place on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th days of the dieta, while optional sessions may be scheduled on the intervening days.
You will be guided in self-application of Kambo until you have fully mastered the technique and can perform it confidently and independently without supervision.
Communication during the dieta will be kept to a minimum and limited to essential matters related to Kambo, the dieta process, or practical needs. Outside of these, you will be asked to observe silence in order to fully immerse yourself in the process and receive the greatest benefit from the dieta.
On the 8th day of the dieta, there will be no Kambo session. Instead, you will have the opportunity to experience the traditional dieta fully: you will remain in your hut throughout the day, with food brought to you. A teacher will visit only if you specifically request it. Otherwise, silence will be maintained until the following day. This day offers a profound opportunity to deepen your connection.
In the morning, we will formally close the dieta and transition into the post-dieta phase. This will be followed by integration work on the dieta teachings, including sharing experiences and interpreting dreams or visions. In the afternoon, we will focus on preparation for applying Kambo to others the following day.
You will apply Kambo to two real clients under the direct supervision of the trainer, putting into practice everything learned during the training. Corrections and guidance will be provided as needed. In the afternoon, we will review and analyze your work, providing detailed feedback. The rest of the time will be used to deepen theoretical understanding and answer questions.
You will once again apply Kambo to two real clients, this time independently, without direct assistance from the trainer. In the afternoon, we will review and analyze your work, offering final feedback and answering any remaining questions.
If the applications are performed safely, independently, and in full alignment with the teachings of the training, you will be listed on the Kambo Naturista website as a qualified practitioner. Should any aspect require further mastery, additional homework or an extra application the following day may be recommended.
Final integration circle and closing Q&A round. We will depart the center for Iquitos after midday. The stay at the center can be extended upon request, if desired.
